Ladies must wear a full black abaya and hijab (covering all hair) at all shrines. Many shrines also provide abayas at the entrance. Men should wear full-length trousers and full-sleeve shirts. We recommend comfortable, flat footwear as distances can be significant.
No, the walk is optional. We provide vehicle support for those unable to walk due to age, health, or physical limitations. The spiritual essence of Arbaeen can be experienced whether you walk or travel by vehicle to Karbala.
